Wrapping Up Summer with Family Fun at Beaver Creek Resort

Disclaimer: This blog post is in collaboration with Beaver Creek Village, however  all opinions are my own, and we would absolutely do it again on our own dime.

Hey friends! 👋

I just had to hop on here and share our recent family trip to Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado—and seriously, it was one of the best mountain getaways we’ve had this summer!

⛰️ Quick Heads-Up: High Altitude Tips

Beaver Creek sits at around 8,000 feet above sea level, so if you’re not used to that kind of elevation, here are a few things that helped us feel great from day one:

  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! We drank lots of water before and during the trip—it makes a huge difference.
  • Take it slow on Day 1. Don’t overdo it right away. A scenic chairlift ride and light hike are perfect ways to ease into it.
  • Wear layers. Mountain weather can go from hot and sunny to cool and breezy in a moment.
  • Watch for signs of altitude sickness like headaches, dizziness, or fatigue. If you feel off, take a break and rest.

Now, here’s a little peek into what we did and why I think you should plan a trip soon to Beaver Creek Resort👇

First Impressions: Luxury Meets Adventure 🌲

We stayed at The Osprey, a super cozy and stylish hotel right by the slopes. It felt fancy but also totally relaxed, and the location was perfect; steps away from everything. The outdoor pool, hot tub, and steam room were perfect for winding down after our adventures.

We kicked things off with a scenic gondola ride, and WOW… those mountain views 😍 Wildflowers were blooming, the sky was clear, and it honestly felt like a movie. If you’re a sucker for good views (hi, same), this is a must.

Pure Family Fun at the Summer Adventure Center 🎉

Right near the gondola is the Summer Adventure Center, and let me just say—my kids went wild in the best way. They bounced on the bungee trampoline, climbed the rock wall, played mini golf, and even tried gem panning. It was like a mini mountain amusement park.

It’s such a fun spot to just let kids be kids—and the best part? It’s all in one place so you’re not running all over the village.

Exploring the Trails & Village Vibes 🥾

Later that day, we grabbed a casual lunch at Spruce Saddle Lodge on the mountain (the views while eating = unreal), and then took a family hike. We did the Aspen Glade Trail, and it was perfect—not too long, not too steep, and sooo peaceful.

We also wandered around Beaver Creek Village, which has this charming, European vibe with cobblestone paths, cute shops, and restaurants. It’s totally walkable and has a calm, relaxed energy that makes you want to slow down and just enjoy.

Later in the day, both kids spent some time at the brand-new Hawk’s Nest Cabin—and they loved it!

This cool new spot in Beaver Creek Village is designed just for older kids and teens, but younger ones can enjoy it too with supervision. It has a cozy, modern cabin feel with arcade and table games, interactive tech, a ski simulator, music, and even non-alcoholic craft drinks (fancy, right?). There are lots of spots to lounge, relax, and just be themselves.

It was the perfect chill-out time after all the action earlier in the day—and honestly, it might be one of the coolest hangouts we’ve seen at any resort.

We ended the day with dinner at Citrea, and I can’t recommend it enough. Great food, great service, and a patio right by the outdoor rink where the kids played while we sipped wine and enjoyed the mountain air.

Adventure for Everyone – Even Without the Kids 😎

The next morning, we dropped our little one off at BC Young Explorers Camp, and let me tell you—it was a hit! He got to hike, climb, swim, and even visit a local amusement park with his group. He came back full of stories and super happy.

While he was off exploring, we took a 4×4 tour up the mountain. It was such a cool way to see the area and learn about the local plants, animals, and history. Plus, those off-road views… wow.

After our 4×4 tour, we were ready for some good food, and Coyote Café totally delivered. This spot has been a Beaver Creek favorite since 1983—and now I see why!

I ordered tacos, and they were so good—fresh, flavorful, and just what I needed after a morning of exploring. And I couldn’t resist a Bloody Mary… and wow, it did not disappoint. Spicy, bold, and perfectly made. If you’re into brunchy drinks, don’t miss it.

The menu has a great mix of Mexican favorites and American comfort food, so there’s something for everyone. It’s super laid-back, family-friendly, and the patio is a great place to soak up the mountain air. They also serve Colorado craft beers and specialty margaritas, so it’s a great spot to relax and recharge.

Definitely one of our favorite meals on the trip!

That afternoon, I went horseback riding with my older son (total bonding moment 🐎), and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. The trails were peaceful and the guides were amazing.

We capped off the day with live music at BC Unplugged, which is a free outdoor concert in the village. It was so fun and totally chill—just dancing, relaxing, and soaking up the summer vibes with mountain views all around.

Dinner that night was at The Golden Eagle Inn, which has this rustic-meets-modern style and some seriously good food (try the elk or duck if you’re feeling adventurous!).

💚 Last Day Magic

We kicked off our last day with a relaxing walk on the Senses Trail. It’s an easy path, great for kids, with fun little signs and nature stops along the way. A peaceful start to the morning!

After the hike, we headed to Rimini Café for a sweet treat—coffee, crêpes, and gelato. Everything was delicious, and the kids couldn’t stop talking about the gelato.

Then we spent some time at Creekside Park. This new nature playground is super fun (it looks like bird nests!) and there are walking paths and quiet spots to sit and enjoy the views.

We finished with the Eager Beaver Scavenger Hunt, a fun, free adventure through the village with clues and a prize at the end. Such a great way to wrap up our trip!

Why You Should Plan a Trip This Fall 🍁

I’ve been to a lot of mountain towns, but fall in Beaver Creek? It’s next-level gorgeous. Here’s why I think it’s the perfect fall getaway:

Aspens everywhere – The trails turn into golden wonderlands

And honestly? The service at Beaver Creek is amazing. Everyone is so welcoming and thoughtful—it really made the whole trip feel extra special.
