Weekend Getaway at the Highland Haven Creekside Inn, in Evergreen Colorado.

Then you need check out the award winning property of Highland Haven Creekside Inn, in Evergreen Colorado. Evergreen is a small town nestled in the Rockies. Its located just off of I-70, 30 miles west of Denver in the Rocky Mountains.

The Property

Highland Haven Creekside Inn is nestled in the scenic town Evergreen, next to a beautiful Bear creek, justa short three-minute walk from the Historic Downtown Evergreen with galleries, winery, boutiques, and coffee shops. Also it’s about a five-minute drive to the Evergreen Lake.

In Highland Haven Creekside Inn you can select from luxury suites, cottages, junior suites or guest rooms. Their premium room features Jacuzzi tubs, private hot tubs, gas fireplaces, flat screen TVs, king beds, fluffy bath robes and remarkable views of the mountains. Some of the rooms can be ideal for couples, some are perfect for the whole family and there are even a few that allow dogs.

Our Room

We stayed in the Fireside Loft. Our place was extremely clean and beautifully decorated in modern mountain style.

This 1500 sq. ft loft has bold architecture, with high ceilings, hardwood floors throughout the whole place, a grand living room with leather couches, a personal bar, beautiful gas fireplace and massive windows with beautiful views of Fern Gulch that make for a unique experience. Other amenities that will bring this place to the top of anyones bucket list is a majestic and modern bedroom with a moon and star skylight, a king size bed, and custom granite tile bath with a rainfall shower.

The Loft is capped off with a private canopied outdoor hot tub. It is extremely secluded and elk watching along with listening to birds chirping is an excellent evening activity!

Food

The gourmet, top quality homemade hot breakfast is delivered to your room daily in sealed hospitality boxes. In a box you will find delicious signature McHaven breakfast, daily baked goods and a variety of fruits. Everything is very fresh and yummy!

Each room is equipped with a coffee maker and tea pot to make a hot cup in the morning.

Starting 4th of July weekend they are opening up their waffle and pancake to-go bar on the patio of the Dailey Cabin from 8:30am-10:30am. Come pick up a hot waffle or pancake plus a hot cup of freshly brewed Conscious Coffees to be enjoyed outside or back at your room.

Our Loft had a beautiful fully equipped private patio, so we were able to enjoy all our breakfasts, lunches and dinners there, while watching hummingbirds and elk cruising around us. The running water from the creek could be heard from our place and it added to the relaxing tone.

On the last day, for dinner, we walked to Historic Downtown Evergreen. There were many dining and shopping options. We decided to eat at Beau Jo’s.

We got All You Can Eat Salad with Little Sicily pizza, and it was amazing. They use honey as a natural sweetener rather than sugar for their dough and pizza sauce. Also they offer wheat dough in addition to white dough, using 100% pure, naturally healthy olive oil. This is defiantly a must-try pizza when you’re in Colorado! They have multiple locations, so check their website for addresses.

Next, we went to Baskin-Robbins, and had an icecream on their open patio by the river.

Hiking

After dinner we hiked to the Evergreen Lake. It’s about a 3 mile round-trip hike. Read more about our hike here.

Overall, we had a wonderful time at the Highland Haven Creekside Inn, in Evergreen Colorado. I love everything about this property and the whole energy of this place! We felt welcomed and loved from the minute we walked in.
