Guide to Exploring Superior, Colorado

Superior is a small town with a very cozy downtown, parks, and miles of trails for hiking/biking. It seriously has everything you need for a good day adventure. We went there with boys a few days ago, and absolutely had a blast. We visited multiple local parks, had a picnic, stopped at the bike park, had some more yummy food and went on a nice sunset walk. And here is our guide on visiting Superior.

Coffee:
start your day with a good cup of coffee from Sticks Coffee.

Food:
We decided to do a little picnic in one of the local parks, and got all our food from Whole Foods Market. But then for dinner we went to Wayne’s Smoke Shack. Their Brisket and Mac and cheese is the one you don’t want to miss. It’s the best in Colorado!

Desert:
for dessert my boys picked to go to Sweet Doodles FroYo, and it was a perfect treat after they were done biking.

Parks:
Grasso Park is a very nicely shaded park, located on the Coal Creek trail. It has picnic tables, antique farm equipment and buildings. You can bike or walk from Boulder to Denver on the Coal Creek trail. Maybe we will bike to this spot next time, it sounds like a fun adventure.

Superior Bike Park is another fun place to stop if your family likes a nice asphalt pump track. They also allow skateboards and scooters there.

Hikes:
We finished our day with a sunset hike at the Oerman-Roche Trailhead, and let me tell you, that this is the best spot for a sunset near Denver. Views of the west Flatirons and the Indian Peaks
are mesmerizing.

Even though this is a very small town, it has so much to offer.

Have you visited Superior before? If not then you definitely need to add this town to your list of places to visit.
